Welcome To Irish Breakdown! – Board Rules

Welcome to everyone who signed up for Irish Breakdown! We are going to build this into the premier place to talk Notre Dame football! Tell all your Notre Dame friends and family about the board, our website and our YouTube channel.

We are all adults so I’m not going to list out a bunch of rules for the board. I have just a few guidelines that I want everyone to try and adhere to, which will make this a welcoming place for everyone. First of all, this is a sports board, no politics.

*** Don’t get personal – This is a place where we will discuss and debate topics, often passionately, and disagreement is fun and part of what we do. Do not make things personal. Also, don’t take things personally, we are talking sports, if you post an opinion expect some to disagree with you, that’s part of the fun. We are passionate about it, but it’s sports. It should go without saying that racist or sexist remarks won’t be tolerated, but I know that won’t be an issue here! This is also true in our comments about players and coaches. They are certainly fair to criticize, but don’t make it personal, stick to making arguments and stating your case, don’t just hurl insults and disparage people, making football arguments.

*** Cite your sources – If you “hear” or read something from another site and want to discuss it here I’m fine with that, as long as it’s not from a premium source. So nothing from premium message boards or for pay articles. We aren’t going to do the TOS (the other site) nonsense and I have no issue with giving credit where credit is due. If a writer or reporter from another site has good intel or an intriguing article that you want to discuss let’s do it, but give them credit. If you “hear” something then tell everyone where you read it or heard it so that writer/reporter can get recognition for their intel. I also do not want every single rumor you hear posted here, especially rumors you see on Twitter from random accounts, or accounts that steal other people’s information. If it’s on a message board or in an article we can discuss it.

*** Be smart with photos and videos – We will have young people and people of all ages and sexes on the board. This isn’t a men’s locker room. Be mindful of the photos and videos that you post on the site.

*** PLEASE DO NOT SHARE OUR INSIDER INTEL – I don’t mind if you want to take an article from the site and post it on another board, just like I’m okay if you bring articles from other sites to our board. But I ask that when we put out insider intel or scoop that you please keep that here and don’t share it with other sites.

*** Do not post links from other Notre Dame sites, including Twitter or Instagram posts.
