  I do not usually join in board discussions, and I don’t pay to read premium boards, but this is something I have not seen out there and should have been before the selection committee made their decision. I believe that ND is the only team, outside of Indiana, that is less than 2 minutes, and 2 poor calls away from a perfect season. In the Miami game, on third down both line judges called the play dead before the running back was pushed forward for the first down. Miami would still have made the FG, but ND would have had time for a minimum of 3 more plays. In the A&M game, the fourth down tackle(hold) that was not called would have set them back another 15 yards and doubtful they would have scored. I am writing this on my poor 67-year-old memory and did not go back and look at the games again so go ahead and correct me if I’m wrong.

  I didn’t mention that the officials have conference ties, which gives them incentive for these missed calls.
