@ryanloftus93I was just looking at teams ranked ahead of ND. If ND beats USC convincingly in SoCal while SC is still number 7 or 8 that will give ND a big bump. Now other teams ahead of them will take care of each other like Michigan-Ohio State. And LSU-Georgia. Clemson-UNC. If complete chaos happens and other 2 loss teams lose. Is there a slim chance ND makes the playoffs when final rankings come out ? Could they be the first 3 loss team to do it? Or is that just not even possible

They will not make the Playoff this year. It is not going to happen. Outside chance if we had 2 losses but at 3 losses their simply isn’t enough chaos that will happen.
The best we can hope for at this point is a NY6. And ruining USC chance of course.
I think both of those are pretty realistic actually.

There is zero chance we make the playoffs as a 3 loss team. No team has ever made it as a two loss team. We may sneak into the top 12 and have a shot at the NY6, but we’re not making the playoffs.

In theory Ryan if literally everybody ahead of them lost the rest of their games then sure we make it. But that is not going to happen.If that happens go to your nearest church. And make sure your affairs are in order because the world is about to end.
If we make a NY6 and win it it will be something we haven’t done since 95. Root for that.

NY6 is going to be difficult. There is basically one slot for us and that’s the Cotton Bowl. To make the Orange and play the ACC champ we have to be the highest ranked remaining team out of ND/Big 10/SEC.

That same thing literally happened in 2012 when ND went to the BCS championship game.
